News\/\/<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong>Bangladesh has been unanimously elected as a<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong>member of the Commission for Social Development (CSocD), a subsidiary body of<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong>the UN Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC), for a four-year term from 2023<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong>to 2027.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">The election was held at the ECOSOC Management meeting at the United Nations<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">(UN) in New York on Wednesday, according to message receive here.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">Along with Bangladesh, India and Saudi Arabia have also been elected to this<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">body from the Asia Pacific Group.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">&#8220;As a member of the Commission, we would make every effort to foster<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">international cooperation for socio-economic development by sharing our good<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">practices,&#8221; said Ambassador Rabab Fatima, the Permanent Representative of<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">Bangladesh to the UN after the election.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">She said Bangladesh, which achieved remarkable success in poverty reduction<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">and socio-economic development under the visionary leadership of Prime<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">Minister Sheikh Hasina, attaches high importance to the work of the<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">Commission.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">&#8220;This election demonstrates the recognition of Bangladesh&#8217;s extraordinary<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">success story by the international community,&#8221; Fatima added.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">The CSocD has been the key UN body that advises ECOSOC on social policies of<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">general character and follows up the key social development themes.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">The Commission consists of 46 members.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/dainikbiswa.com\">\u09aa\u09dc\u09c1\u09a3 \u09a6\u09c8\u09a8\u09bf\u0995
