The district administration of Barguna has issued Section 144 in Amtali, fearing the deterioration of law and order based on the declaration of upazila and municipal BNP committees on one side to prevent the joyous procession and on the other side to prevent it.<\/p>\n

It is known that on August 2 Barguna BNP president Mahbubul Alam Farooq Molla and General Secretary Tarikul Islam Titu announced the convening committee of Amtali Upazila BNP and Municipal BNP. In that committee, Jalal Uddin Fakir convener and Kamruzzaman Hiru Mridha as member secretaries announced a partial upazila committee with 7 members and Kabir Uddin Fakir convener and Tuhin Mridha as member secretaries announced a partial municipal committee with 10 members.<\/p>\n

Since the announcement of that committee, Jalal Uddin Fakir, the convener of the newly announced Upazila BNP, and Tuhin Mridha, member secretary of the municipal committee, have been opposing the cancellation of the committee.<\/p>\n

In continuation of this, on Wednesday afternoon on August 10, under the leadership of Jalal Uddin Fakir and Tuhin Mridha, over half a hundred Chhatra Dal and Juba Dal leaders and activists protested by sweeping and trampling the picture of BNP Central Executive Committee Deputy Labor Secretary Mamun Mollah in front of the party office adjacent to Government High School. Along with that, the district leaders were severely criticized.<\/p>\n

On the other hand, while congratulating the announced committee, a joyous procession was scheduled to be held on Saturday afternoon under the leadership of upazila BNP member secretary Kamruzzaman Hiru Mridha and municipal BNP convener Kabir Uddin Fakir. Tuhin Mridha announced to resist it, causing tension between the two sides. Fearing the deterioration of law and order, the police applied to the upazila administration to issue Section 144.<\/p>\n

Amtali upazila administration sent the application to the district administration fearing the deterioration of law and order. At 4 pm from the office of Amtali Upazila Nirbahi Officer, fearing the deterioration of the law and order, on behalf of the upazila administration, the Amtali municipal town has been miked by issuing section 144 and declaring all kinds of meetings prohibited from 4 pm to 12 midnight on Saturday.<\/p>\n

Upazila BNP member secretary Md. Kamruzzaman Hiru Mridha said that upazila BNP convenor Jalal Uddin Fakir and municipal BNP member secretary Tuhin Mridha have been conspiring to thwart our pre-scheduled joyous procession based on the announcement of the new committee. We have informed the district BNP leaders about this. BNP leaders and workers will soon give a proper answer, inshallah.<\/p>\n
