He joined the session virtually from Ganobhaban.<\/p>\n<p>The Prime Minister said, &#8220;I request the international community to stop fighting, stop politics over food and stop wasting food.&#8221; Instead, ensure food supply to food-scarce and famine-prone areas. As humans we must believe that everyone has the right to live on food and live a good life.&#8217;<\/p>\n<p>Sheikh Hasina said, &#8220;If a fraction of the money invested in the manufacture of weapons is spent on food production and distribution, no one will be hungry in this world.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>The Prime Minister mentioned that more than 80 crore people or 10 percent of the world&#8217;s population go to bed hungry all the time. The situation has now worsened with the Ukraine war, subsequent embargoes, counter-embargoes, which have disrupted global food supplies and driven up food prices.<\/p>\n<p>He said, in real sense, there is no shortage of food on our planet.
