{"id":943,"date":"2023-12-07T21:11:48","date_gmt":"2023-12-07T15:11:48","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/en.dainikbiswa.com\/?p=943"},"modified":"2023-12-07T21:11:48","modified_gmt":"2023-12-07T15:11:48","slug":"rit-application-for-cancellation-of-death-penalty-in-bangladesh-criminal-law","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/en.dainikbiswa.com\/index.php\/943\/bangladesh\/rit-application-for-cancellation-of-death-penalty-in-bangladesh-criminal-law\/","title":{"rendered":"Rit application for cancellation of death penalty in Bangladesh criminal law"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"color: #ff6600;\"><strong>\/\/Daily World News\/\/<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p>A lawyer has applied for Rit challenging the death penalty in Bangladesh\u2019s criminal law.<\/p>\n<p>On Thursday, Advocate Ishrat Hasan filed a Rit application in the relevant branch of the High Court.<\/p>\n<p>It has disputed the Secretary of Law and Justice Department of Law and Justice, Secretary of Legislative and Parliamentary Division and Registrar General of the Supreme Court.<\/p>\n<p>He has already applied for unconstitutional declaration of the highest punishment, noting that 112 countries have banned the death penalty.<\/p>\n<p>Lawyer Ishrat said the death penalty was banned in neighboring countries, Bhutan and Nepal, including many developed countries. Bangladesh is a signatory to the international document to ban the death penalty. As a result, it is the custom of international law to follow these documents.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;But when the application will be heard, he said, &#8220;&#8221;There are several days before the vacation.&#8221; So I can\u2019t tell if I\u2019ll hear it in January.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The two-week holiday will begin from December 19 to the Supreme
