Police in France have charged a Turkish man with beating to death.

According to the video footage, the Turkish youth named Mertar Keskin (38) was handcuffed and beaten by the police in a police station in the north-east of France.

He died in police custody on January 12-13. At the time, French police said he had died of a heart attack.

Police arrested Keskin on January 12 in a family case, and he died on the 13th. Police said he had a heart attack as the cause of death but was not taken to hospital.

The family of the slain Turkish youth can now file a case against the police over these issues.
