Two rough stone idols of Vishnu were found while digging a pond in Betka village of Munshiganj

An idol of Vishnu made of rough stone was found while cutting the soil of a pond in North Betka village of Tongibari upazila of Munshiganj. The statue was found in the pond of Sohail Sheikh’s house in the village around 10 am on Monday.
After getting the information around 11 o’clock, Tongibari Upazila Assistant Commissioner (Land) Farzana Bobby Mitu recovered the statue and took it to the police station. Earlier, on May 17 (Friday), another Vishnu idol was found in the pond.
The locals said that it is a hard stone Vishnumurti. The idol will weigh 40 to 50 kg, the administration people came and took it away. Another similar idol was recovered 3 days ago. His weight was 60 kg.
In this regard, Tongibari Upazila Assistant Commissioner (Land) Farzana Bobby Mitu said, “I think it is a difficult stone Vishnu statue. It has been kept in the custody of Tongibari police station. That is why we are busy with election work. Weight, length, and width have not yet been measured. But it is estimated that the idol will weigh 40 to 50 kg.
