Another 65,000 families are getting houses in the third phase under the humanitarian program ‘Asrayan Project-2’ of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, daughter of Bangabandhu. The houses of this stage are being built stronger and more durable. In the light of the experience of the first and second phase, several changes have been made in the construction of infrastructure this time. Construction costs have been increased. Earlier there were brick foundations and columns. This time great beams and columns have been given on RCC casting. Before there was only lintel on the windows and doors. Now the whole house has been given.

Project stakeholders say they found some defects in the first and second steps. There have been incidents of cracks, landslides or landslides. The house is being built by identifying these defects and solving them in the third step. Due to which the cost has also increased compared to the past. In the first phase, the allocation for construction of houses was one lakh 71 thousand taka. In the second phase, the amount was one lakh 95 thousand. And 6 thousand 500 more than the first phase and 88 thousand 500 more than the second phase, the allocation per house in the third phase is 2 lakh 59 thousand 500 taka.

Senior Secretary to the Prime Minister’s Office Tofazzal Hossain Mia said, “We are talking about the issue of shelter to advance the backward sections of the society. Sheikh Hasina is a model for inclusive development.” 1 lakh 82 thousand 803 families will come under this program in the current financial year. 3971 crore 6 lakh 83 thousand taka has been allocated for this. Work on the third phase is underway. In this 65 thousand 474 families will get houses. He said it was the largest and only project in the world; So that the living standards of so many families have been improved together. Along with the land, there is employment. Moving with the mainstream of society, this backward large population.

Abu Saleh Mohammad Ferdous Khan, project director of Asrayan Project-2, said some changes have been made in the third phase in the light of the work experience of the first and second phase. Disaster-tolerant homes have been built. RCC has been cast on the floor of the house. Linters have been drawn around the bottom and top of the wall. The three pillars outside were made of bricks, but now they have been cast in RCC.

All in all, the house that is being built this time is much stronger and more durable.

Project Engineer Mohammad Zakiur Rahman said three RCC pillars have been added instead of three columns in the houses constructed in the third phase. Great beams have been added to make the infrastructure more sustainable. The drawn lintel has been added. This will make the house more durable. Anchor rods have been added to make the rice tin frame more durable. CC has also been added under the wall.

Under the Asrayan-2 project, 1 lakh 17 thousand 329 houses have already been given to the landless and homeless in the 1st and 2nd phase. It has been turned into a semi-permanent two-room house with 2 hundred acres of land. There is also a kitchen, toilet, potable water, electricity connection, poultry rearing in the yard and vegetable cultivation.
Project stakeholders say that in the third phase, 65,464 families will get houses. Earthquake resistant special design has been made for chars. In the third phase, 1,042 houses are being constructed in Char. The houses will be handed over after Eid-ul-Fitr as Eid gifts of the Prime Minister, sources in the Prime Minister’s Office said.

It has been seen on the spot that the second phase house of Asrayan Project-2 has been prepared at Gauhailbari village of Shimulia union of Savar. The rest is to explain the house to the landless. And the work of the third stage is also nearing the end. Nakul Kumar, a mason who is constructing the third phase of the house, said that the work being done now is much better than before.

Savar Upazila Executive Officer. Mazharul Islam said that the houses of the shelter project are being constructed by rescuing the illegally occupied government land. We have recovered a total of eight acres of land in Savar. Of these, 1.41 acres of land has been recovered in Shimulia Union. He said the land was in the possession of a BNP leader.
