Chinese ship detained in Mumbai // was sending nuclear products to Pakistan

‘Nuclear goods’ were being smuggled in ships detained at Mumbai’s Nav Seva seaport. This is what the detectives are claiming after the investigation. The vessel was seized on January 23. Customs officials said on Saturday that the goods recovered from the ship were used in nuclear and missile projects. News from India Today
The ship left China for Karachi on January 17. According to confidential sources, the Customs officials received information that something suspicious was being transported in a Malta-flagged ship named ‘CMA CGM Attila’. On receiving that news, the ship was detained at Nab Seva port.
A team of Customs and DRDO inspected the cargo on the ship. According to the customs department, Computer Numerical Control Machine (CNC) was being carried in the ship. It is suspected that such a device was intended to be used for a nuclear project. However, experts believe that Pakistan was planning to use the machines that were being taken to Pakistan to make missiles.
Experts also say that the CNC machines found on the ship were used by North Korea for their nuclear projects.
According to sources, after checking the ship and goods documents, the ship belongs to a company called Sangbai JXE Global Logistics. The goods were being sent to a company in Sialkot called Pakistan Wings Private Limited. However, on further investigation, the detectives found out that the ship belonged to a company called Taiwan Mining Import and Export. The product was being sent to a company called Cosmos Engineering in Pakistan.
This is not the first time, military equipment sent from China to Pakistan has been seized in Indian waters. Incidentally, since that time the Cosmos Engineering Company was under the watchful eye of intelligence agencies. This company supplies defense related products to Pakistan. A vessel was seized on March 12, 2022 while transporting Italian-made thermoelectric equipment to Pakistan. The goods were being taken secretly. But before that the ship was detained at Nab Seva port.
