The sister did not go to her brother’s house with her son, the mother-son died on the way

Mother was walking to her brother’s house with her son. At that time, a mother and son were killed at a place called Chunakhali culvert on the Amtali-Patuakhali regional highway in Barguna. The accident took place on Monday (March 8) at around 7.45 am.
The deceased were identified as Nurjahan Begum, 40, wife of Abul Kalam of West Chunakhali village under Kukua union of the upazila and her son Md Rakib, 18. It is learned that this (Monday) morning mother Nurjahan Begum was walking with her son Rakib to the house of her brother Quddus Pahlan, a resident of the area adjacent to Chalehiya Complex in Khanka on the same road.
At that time, a truck and a pickup van overtook each other when they reached Chunakhali culvert on the Amtali-Patuakhali regional highway. The mother and son died on the spot. The driver and helper of the pickup van left the vehicle at the spot and fled.
Upon receiving the news, Amtali Fire Service personnel and police reached the spot, seized the deadly pickup van and recovered the bodies of the mother and son and brought them to Amtali Police Station for autopsy.
Amtali Police Officer-in-Charge (OC) AKM Mizanur Rahman confirmed the incident and said a pedestrian mother and son died on the spot after being hit by a pickup van while overtaking a truck and a pickup van. A case is being registered at Amtali Police Station.
