522 kg weight Shaplapata Fish selling in Barisal
In Barisal city, miking is being done for the sale of a shaplapata fish weighing 522 kg. Rubel, a fishereman, has been miking in the city’s alleys since 6am on Tuesday (August 31st). “I’m a fishereman on Port Road,” Rubel said.
On Monday (August 30) in the middle of the night I got the news that a big fish had been caught in the net of a man of the Vedic community in Taltoli. I went there and saw a huge water lily fish. I bought it at a bargain price. I will sell the fish and pay him.
Referring to the fishereman, Rubel said he cast his net in the Taltoli river on the outskirts of Barisal city to catch hilsa. After a while the water of the river started receding and the shaplapata fish got caught in the net. The boat is wrapped in a net and dragged along with the net into the river. However, the fish could not go because there was not much water and it was well wrapped in the net. After bringing the fish to Taltoli Ghat, he bought it at Tk 350 per kg.
This fish trader said, the weight of the fish will be about 522 kilogram . I’m micing to get buyer’s attention. The fish will be cut at Port Road Rasulpur Fish Landing Center and sold at Rs 500 per kg. Rubel added that the fish business has not been going well for the last two years due to various reasons such as lockdown and ban on fishing. Moreover, the fate of the fishereman has also been revealed.
