Even after 7 days, the caged Mechobag has not been rescued. Even though the National Emergency Service number 999 was called, no action was taken by the forest department to rescue the tiger. At present it is near Russell-Bablu of Cheharia Purvapara of Peria Union of Upazila.

According to the locals, on December 18, while cutting the rice of Bablu land, he saw a tiger. Later it was recovered with the help of locals. Later Russell-Bablu took the tiger home and locked it in a cage. The matter was immediately informed to the forest officials by calling the National Emergency Service number 999. But even after seven days, the Mecho tiger has not been rescued and released.

Nangalkot upazila executive officer (UNO) said. Raihan Mehebub said, “I have come to know about the rescue of the tiger. Still not rescued due to election troubles. However, the matter has been informed to the Upazila Forest Officer. He will take action in this regard.

Nangalkot upazila forest officer Moazzem Hossain said that the process of rescuing and freeing the tiger and sending it to Comilla is underway.
